Doctor Who: Russell T Davies book signing dates
Simon Brew
The promotional tour for Doctor Who: The Writer's Tale is in full swing this week. And you can get your book signed...
As part of the promotion for the upcoming Ebury book Doctor Who: The Writer’s Tale, Russell T Davies and co-author Benjamin Cook are doing a bit of a tour where you can get your copy autographed by the pair.
The book, which sells for a cool £30, is a lavish tome, the bulk of which is given over to e-mail conversations between the pair that give a rare insight into how a show like Doctor Who is actually written. We’ve got about 50 pages of it left, nd it’s a fascinating, warts-and-all look at the process, that thus far has left us wondering just how close the show came to not meeting its transmission deadlines. It covers a year of Davies writing the show, from the 2007 Christmas special through to season four, and also features script extracts, rare photographs and illustrations.
The signings will be taking place this week, in London, Birmingham and Manchester. And here are the details…
LONDON: Wednesday 8th October
Waterstone’s Piccadilly at 6pm
Store number: 0207-851-2400
BIRMINGHAM: Thursday 9th October

CARDIFF: Friday 10th October

You’re advised to turn up early to stand a chance of getting your book scribbled on by the pair. And if you’re in Manchester, you’d better hope the M6 is clear given that they’ve got to hotfoot it from Birmingham. Might be worth hanging around Knutsford services too, to see if they pop in for a Ginsters?
