OWEN WILSON BRINGS THE "WOW" FACTOR

By Alec Bojalad

Successful actor and screenwriter Owen Wilson is the perfect foil to the God of Mischief on Loki.

Owen Wilson stars as Time Variance Authority agent Mobius M. Mobius on Disney+’s latest Marvel effort, Loki.

Mobius is a mild-mannered bureaucrat with an intense fascination for the title character.

The character comes from the comics and is based off of beloved Marvel editor Mark Gruenwald, who had a deep breadth of knowledge for the company’s lore.

Wilson, however, knew very little about Marvel or its cinematic universe before taking on the role.

On set, Loki star Tom Hiddleston would catch Wilson and the rest of the cast and crew up to date with the character in the so-called “Loki Lectures.”

Before signing on to join Marvel’s blockbuster circus, Wilson was best known as an indie darling and comedic movie star.

He started his career working y with Wes Anderson as an actor and screenwriter in films like Bottle Rocket, Rushmore, and The Royal Tenenbaums.

The actor would then go on to hold down starring roles in major comedies like Shanghai Noon, Zoolander, and Wedding Crashers.

He also provided the voice of Lightning McQueen in the Cars franchise.

Wilson’s latest film was Bliss, in which he appeared alongside Salma Hayek.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is well-known for employing big-name actors in quirky comic book roles.

Owen Wilson might be among the studio’s most interesting choices yet.
