Den of Geek Launches New PC Gaming Series and Hub
It's the Year of the PC at Den of Geek, as we take deep dives into the history of PC gaming and PC building with two new content series!
While Den of Geek has always been your one-stop resource for gaming news, reviews, in-depth analysis, and history, we’ve largely focused on modern and retro console gaming over the past few years. We’ve enjoyed bringing you that coverage and we hope you’ve enjoyed reading it. This year, we plan to keep bringing you much more of what we do best while also expanding to new areas of gaming, specifically PC gaming and tech.
We’re taking a deeper dive than ever before into the world of PC gaming in 2019 by launching two new content series that explore both the PC community’s history as well as the innovative technology that makes the PC such a great place to play.
You may have already noticed some new PC gaming content over the last few weeks, including reviews of the latest PC tech, analysis on the future of cloud gaming, retrospectives on the early days of gaming with a mouse and keyboard, and more game reviews on PC. There’s plenty more where that came from.
Our History of PC Gaming series will include in-depth features, interviews, retrospectives, fun lists, and videos covering the people, games, and innovations from the earliest days of Tennis for Two and Commodore 64 to the hero shooters, MOBAs, and battle royale games we’re enjoying today.
What are the most important PC games of all-time? We have an answer for you. The innovations that allowed us to one day start dreaming about the cloud? Yep, we’re covering that too.
And if you’re a console gamer who’s always wanted to own a gaming rig powerful enough to shoot its way to victory in Overwatch or own a mega-conglomerate in EVE Online, you’ll want to tune into our PC Building series, where we’ll cover all of the best components you need to get playing on your computer. How are we doing this? We’re building our own Den of Geek computer from scratch, and you’re going to get to see the whole process as it happens.
Each month, we’ll highlight a different component — from gaming cases and motherboards to graphics cards and even fans — that’s going into our own PC with analysis as well as a how-to video that explains why we’ve chosen the component and how to install it in your own starter rig. Best of all, since we’re dealing with some of the best tech out there, we’ll be learning along with you. Throughout this series, we’ll be talking to the experts behind these components so that they can answer your most burning questions.
Best of all, you can find all of our PC Gaming coverage right on our front page under the trending section:
The new series will be launching very soon — this month, in fact! Keep an eye out for more updates from us in the coming days. We’re looking forward to taking the journey with you.
