DuckTales Return Date and Series Finale Details Revealed
The new DuckTales is coming to a close and it won’t be too long from when it comes back that we'll be getting the finale.
If there was anytime I felt more conflicted about writing “woo-oo” in my life, it would be today. We already knew DuckTales was coming to a close but we didn’t know how it would end. Would we get one new episode a week for weeks? Would they air them all in a row? Well, Disney just released the info and it wasn’t quite what we expected.
DuckTales will return on February 22, 2021 and will air one new episode a week until March 15, 2021. On that date we’ll be getting a 90-minute series finale! That’s less than a month of new DuckTales episodes but getting a movie length finale? If the show is going to be leaving our lives, at least it’ll be leaving in style. First up, let’s take a look at the episodes leaving to the finale.
February 22, 2021: Beaks in The Shell!
Fenton teams with Gandra Dee on a top-secret experiment.
March 1, 2021: The Cargo of Kit Cloudkicker!
A new (but familiar) ally helps find treasure on an island full of monsters.
March 8, 2021: The Life and Crimes of Scrooge McDuck!
In a mystical karmic court, Scrooge’s enemies accuse him of making them evil.
If those summaries got you excited (that last one sounds fantastic) then wait till you read the much lengthier synopsis for the finale.
March 15, 2021: The Last Adventure!
The future of adventuring hangs in the balance as the Duck family uncovers earth-shattering secrets in a final standoff with the Fiendish Organization for World Larceny (F.O.W.L.). Returning guest voices include Lin-Manuel Miranda, Giancarlo Esposito, Julie Bowen, Jaime Camil, Jameela Jamil, Catherine Tate, Stephanie Beatriz, Paul F. Tompkins, Jim Rash, Margo Martindale, Jason Mantzoukas, John Hodgman, Retta, Kimiko Glenn, Libe Barer, Jaleel White and Amy Sedaris. Noël Wells and Riki Lindhome guest star as sisters, June and May, respectively.
Damn, this finale looks like it’s pulling zero punches. They’re pulling out ALL the stops. It’s also great that it looks like this was a planned finale, especially with the title of ‘The Last Adventure.’ We’re sure it’ll be left open ended enough that the family will still be going off on adventures but it’ll hopefully wrap up any of the major plot threads of the show.
It’s still such a shame to see DuckTales go but if we’re getting an epic finale out of it? At least the series will go out on a high note. Truly this has been a worthy entry in the Disney Duck canon.
