Doctor Who: episode 12 gets its title

A few spoilers inside, as we have a quick chinwag about the now-confirmed title for Doctor Who episode 12...

The full line up for Doctor Who’s current season is now confirmed, with the twelfth episode – the one, we suspect, where Davros will appear – now entitled The Stolen Earth. This fits neatly into the talk of disappearing planets throughout the series

The announcement, from the BBC’s Doctor Who website, reads as follows:

“Earth's greatest heroes assemble in a time of dire need, in tonight's penultimate episode in this series of Russell T Davies's Bafta Award-winning time-travelling drama. But can the Doctor's secret army defeat the might of the new Dalek Empire?

With battles on the streets and in the skies, the Doctor and Donna must brave the Shadow Proclamation to find out the truth. However, a fearsome old enemy waits in the shadows…”

Which confirms much of what we know. That it’s a mass Dalek battle ahead, and that Davros is returning. We also know that it's set to be assistant overload, too.

Also, there’s a rumour that the Doctor is going to get pushed closer to death than we’ve seen before in the season finale (the trailer for next week's episode gave a taster of that), and we, bluntly, can’t wait to see it.

It's odd how they kept this episode title a secret for so long. They did the same for Bad Wolf, but that made sense as it was such a big recurring theme from Episode 2 onwards. All this title gives away is that the finale will involve Earth, which is about the least surprising thing I've ever heard. Still, I'm hugely looking forward to seeing what they do with Davros, as he looks the business.
