Last weekend’s Doctor Who cliffhanger has posed a series of questions, many of which we’ve spent the week trying to answer. But it’s also thrown up the issue of who David Tennant’s replacement in the Tardis will be.
Our current thinking – and this isn’t a spoiler, as it’s just guesswork – is that the regeneration at the end of The Stolen Earth will fail, and we suspect that we’ll have more than one Doctor running around throughout Journey’s End. Noting that David Morrissey has been cast in the Christmas special, we wonder whether he could turn out to be one of the Doctors (which is a current discussion board topic across the interweb), but we suspect not. For the time being, our money is on David Tennant being Doctor Who.
However, the current favourite appears to be Robert Carlyle. We’ve already reported that William Hill have been taking odds on the new Doctor, and it seems that there’s been a flurry of activity this week. Tennant still isn’t giving any clues as to where his future lies, while now it’s believed that Robert Carlyle would be interested in the role.
Hmmmm….
