Battlestar Galactica: The Plan not on TV this year

SyFy puts back its plan to broadcast this year what looks like the final Battlestar Galactica TV movie...

Published on Sep 21, 2009

Following the template that it set down with Caprica, The SciFi Channel has revealed that it won't be broadcasting the new TV movie, Battlestar Galactica: The Plan, this year.

The TV movie, which has been directed by Edward James Olmos, tells the story of the build up to the initial attack on the colonies - as seen in the Battlestar Galactica pilot TV movie - but from the Cylon perspective. And while talk rumbles on about the possibility of a movie, with Bryan Singer reportedly involved, this is still likely to be the last Battlestar we see for some time. With the sets reportedly taken down, the saga - at least in its latest form - may yet be over.

However, if you want to see The Plan this year, just as with the Caprica pilot, you have to buy it on DVD (or Blu-ray). The Plan is set for release on 27th October in the US, but according to Airlock Alpha, there's still no formal broadcast date, save for the news that it's been bumped back from this year.

We'd better import a copy then...

You see, this was their Plan all along, teasing the fans and then delaying the arrival.... very diabolical!! Fascinating idea though, to witness the attack from the Ceylon point of view. I'll import a copy indeed.
