New shots of Gotham Knight

Check out some stills from the first DC Batman animation to cross over into the world of Batman movies...

A number of grabs from the forthcoming animated release Batman - Gotham Knight have been released by Warner Home Video. Gotham Knight comprises six short tales that take place between Batman Begins and the imminent The Dark Knight, with Kevin Conroy reprising the caped crusader from previous work in DC animation. The film is the first DC animation to cross-over to cinematic Batman output.

The shots display a manga styling with a smattering of stylised CG...

Having seen this now I must say I was a bit disappointed with it, I'm not a manga fan in the slightest & while th wbackground art on this is gorgeous the characters to my mind leave something to be desired. Still the style settles down as the film progresses, or else I got used to it as the film progressed. Not a bad little film & no sign of Robin so that's a good thing! But the last Batman animated film was The Mystery Of The Batwoman & I think that was so much better than this, one long decent story instead of the 6 or so short stories here. So enjoyable but hey, can we just have new Batman the animated series stuff please. :-) 7/10

I've seen this movie and I’d disagree a little. I'm no anime aficionado, but I know a bit about Japanimation. The representations of Batman in Gotham Knight aren't conventional, but they don't damage the character. He's still very dark. Admittedly, Bruce Wayne does look a little young in a couple of the chapters. However, as a contender to The Animatrix, it's much better.
