Den Of Geek
Some more terrible news to report. Actress Brittany Murphy has died, at the age of 32.
Published on Dec 20, 2009
It’s been quite a week for sad news, with the passing of both Roy Disney and Dan O’Bannon. Sadly, it’s got no better with the sudden and tragic death of Brittany Murphy. She was just 32.
According to TMZ, Murphy died after going into full cardiac arrest from which she could not be revived. She was pronounced dead at a hospital in Los Angeles.
It’s a horrible story. Firstly, obviously, it’s a tragically young age to die at. And secondly, Murphy was clearly a talent with still plenty more to give. We have fond memories of her performance in Clueless (with her memorable turn as Tai), but there was also a terrific work opposite Eminem in 8 Mile, and, of course, Shellie in Sin City. Murphy also voiced Luanne Platter for King Of the Hill, and she had a whole host of other work on her resume.
Murphy had finished work on a pair of other projects. Currently in post-production is thriller Abandoned opposite Dean Cain, along with another thriller in the shape of Something Wicked for director Darin Scott. Both are expected for release in 2010.
She’s survived by her husband, and leaves behind her an unfinished career. A tragic, tragic loss.
