I can't be the only person on the planet whose heart has been gladdened by this particular trailer. I'm a long-term Disney animated movie devotee, and have been pumped up about the Mouse's return to big-screen hand drawn animation since the moment The Princess And The Frog was announced.

What's refreshing about this trailer, appreciating that it's only just over two minutes we get here, is that there's every sign that Disney has really gone for it here. The later Disney hand drawn films, such as Home On The Range, weren't bad, but they certainly didn't seem to have the spit and polish of the likes of The Little Mermaid and Beauty And The Beast. The Princess And The Frog, thus far, looks like it has.

There are, for me, a couple of little bits that I wasn't overly keen on here. The traditional moral - "the only thing that's important is what's under the skin" - even makes it to the trailer here, while I'd have taken Alan Menken over Randy Newman on music duties (I thought Menken did a terrific job on Enchanted). But these are minor blips for me, and I'm desperately excited to see the finished product.

Of course, being in the UK, I've got to wait until February, although for our chums in the US the film's roll-out begins in November, with a wide release on 11th December. Were I a rich man, I'd seriously be considering buying a plane ticket...
