Is it just me or does anybody else think the source material was dark enough to forgo the whole "burton-izing" effect? This is definitely a back-burner movie for me. I put the Marilyn Manson version ahead of this one.

This better be good. Or I'll have to hunt Burton down...with a stick!

My lunch just sprayed all over my keyboard. These are without doubt, the most disturbing images I have seen.

White Queen? Red Queen? Which bit of Alice in Wonderland is this then? Sounds more like Alice Through the Looking Glass to me.

I love it! Can't get too much Burton IMO and it seems a natural next stop. I'll be watching for the MM version too. I think there's room for - and it's interesting to see - a whole slew of Alices from Disney to Jan Svankmajer. It's a classic - it's going to be done & redone eternally, probably.

Check out Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter amongst the new images from Tim Burton’s upcoming film…

USA Today has just premiered a series of snaps from Tim Burton's upcoming take on Alice In Wonderland, a story that - according to producer Richard Zanuck - has been "Burton-ized".

The article notes that the story "has been freshened with a blast of girl power", and the images give us a first look at Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen and Anne Hathaway as the White Queen. Also, some fresh concept art has also been released.

The film is out next March, and if you want to make the pictures bigger, just give ‘em a click. If you want the really big versions, though, you'll need to head over to the USA Today site, right here...
