Terminator 5 set in London?
Martin Anderson
The Terminator franchise to leave the confines of the US for the first time...?
Published on Jun 6, 2009
This is a rumour from Bleeding Cool that has the endorsement of /Film, so therefore a bit more credibility than it might normally get: the follow-up to Terminator Salvation will be set in London. The original post gives little more detail on the matter, except that it will be 'present day' (2011).
If true, I'll be pleased to see it, since that definitely means time travel is back in the franchise. Not that I wouldn't like to see my native city in ruins (only because it looked so good that way in Reign Of Fire), but rather because Terminator movies ought to have time travel. If not, it's just another future war scenario.
/Film noted McG's speculation on T5:
"I strongly suspect the next movie is going to take place in a 2011. John Connor is going to travel back in time and he’s going to have to galvanize the militaries of the world for an impending Skynet invasion. They’ve figured out time travel to the degree where they can send more than one naked entity. So you’re going to have hunter killers and transports and harvesters and everything arriving in our time and Connor fighting back with conventional military warfare, which I think is going to be fucking awesome."

The last time London got devastated on a budget - Reign Of Fire (2002), despite the best efforts of V For Vendetta and 28 Weeks Later.
