Steve Guttenberg in pantomime!
Simon Brew
Get thee to Bromley, for the legend that is Mr Guttenberg is about to be Baron Hardup...
It’s been a long-cherished dream at Den Of Geek to make Steve Guttenberg – the very epitomy of an 80s legend – one of our interview subjects, but thus far, the great one has managed to elude our grasp. However, our chances have surely increased with the news that Mr Guttenberg himself will be following the lead of Henry Winkler and treading the boards in pantomime this year.
The star of films such as Police Academy, Short Circuit, Diner, Cocoon and Three Men And A Baby is heading to Blighty to star in Cinderella at Bromley’s Churchill Theatre.
Guttenberg will be playing the role of Baron Hardup, and he’s quoted as saying “I am looking forward to the honour and the fun of performing in Bromley. There is everything an actor needs to practice his craft with an entertaining show and a talented cast. I appreciate being invited to participate in such a time honoured tradition”.
We’re, of course, fully intending to make friends with the quite stunningly brilliant Churchill Theatre in Bromley ourselves (with no ulterior motive, of course), and it just leaves us wondering which Hollywood stars will be coming across next year for panto season. Steven Seagal as Mother Goose? Tell us you wouldn’t buy a ticket for that…
