It's been in development since pretty much the moment the first game turned into a hit for Eidos, and it's now been confirmed that the sequel to Just Cause will be arriving next March.

Now published by Square Enix, given that it bought Eidos up, Just Cause 2 is set to feature thousands of kilometres of game world to explore, covering snow capped mountains, sun-drenched beaches and thick jungle, and once more you'll have plenty of freedom to explore the game world.

The idea this time is that you step into the shoes of Rico Rodriguez, with the aim of heading to the island of Panau and taking down Tom Sheldon. Sheldon, wouldn't you know it, used to be Rodriguez's boss. But he's gone rogue now. The shit.

The date to mark in your diaries, anyway, is March 26th if you live in Europe, Australia, New Zealand or the Middle East. Our chums in America and Canada get the game from 23rd March, though.
